229 Storage is in Ashley, Ohio, on Route 229, just 2 miles east of Route 42. We’re conveniently accessible from Delaware and surrounding communities.

Your belongings are protected by a fully fenced, well-lit facility with an electronic gate requiring a personal security code. All indoor units use high-security cylinder locks. The owners live nearby and make frequent checks of the property.

Only tenants with an active security code can enter. Each code is deactivated once a tenant leaves, ensuring only current renters have access.

Units are accessible 7 days a week from 5am to 11pm. Additional hours can be arranged by request.

We offer a wide range, from 5×5 (25 sq. ft.) to 12×40 (480 sq. ft.). Use our Sizes and Prices page to help choose the right unit. If you need assistance, call 740-524-2111.

Yes, we provide secured, fenced outdoor spaces for cars, trucks, trailers, RVs, and boats. Discounts are available for customers renting both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Rentals must be completed in person by the renter (only for outside parking). Required information includes: mailing and email address, date of birth, two phone numbers, valid ID, emergency contact, and initial payment (first month + $20 administration fee). Outdoor storage also requires vehicle information and a copy of the title/ registration and proof of insurance.

Yes. A high-security cylinder lock is provided for all indoor units.

One month, on a month-to-month basis. Rental rate is guaranteed for 1 year.

Units are rented month-to-month. Rent is due by the 1st of each month. Long-term or short-term rentals are available, and prepayment for up to 12 months is accepted. Provide 15 days’ notice before vacating.

Do you operate a non-smoking facility?

Yes, our office and storage facility are completely smoke-free. We appreciate your consideration.

What are the payment terms?

Rent is due on the 1st of each month. Late payments may be subject to late fees. You may move in anytime, and your first month’s rent will be pro-rated if needed.

What is a pro-rated payment?

A pro-rated payment is an adjustment for partial months. This applies if you lease storage in the middle of the month.

You can access your account information online anytime.
  • We can send a monthly electronic invoice to your email at no charge.
  • By request, we will mail a paper invoice for a processing fee of $2 per month.

Update Account Information

Keeping your account information up to date is essential so that invoices, payment receipts, and important notices reach you.

  • Mail, Bring, or Drop Off: Include your tenant name and unit number(s) when submitting updates to the office.
  • Update Form: Click the Update Account Information Form, print it, fill it out, and send it to 229 Storage.

Request Change in Storage

We’re happy to assist with your changing storage needs, whether that means moving to a larger unit or adding additional units or spaces. The best way to request changes is to call us at (740) 524-2111.

Moving Out

Notify of Move-Out

You are required to give 30 days’ notice before vacating a unit or space. The move-out date on your lease is an estimate, not a commitment. You may stay as long as you need the space, as long as rent continues to be paid. When preparing to leave, please provide notice. Click the 229-MOVE-OUT-NOTICE to print, complete, and submit it to 229 Storage.

Move-Out Questions

What do I need to do when I move out? On your scheduled move-out day:
  • Make sure the unit is completely empty and broom-swept clean
  • Remove your lock and place it inside the unit with all keys
  • Close and latch the unit door
  • Notify us that you have vacated so you are not charged further rent

What happens if I leave items in my space that I don’t want? Any items left in your space remain your responsibility. Rent is due until the unit is empty and unlocked. If items remain, 229 Storage must charge for removal and disposal.

Why am I still being charged for a space I’ve vacated? Most often, charges continue because the unit was found locked after the planned vacate date, or some belongings remain in the space. If you believe there is an error, please contact us at (740) 524-2111.
